The new Labour Market Priorities Stream of Nova Scotia has issued 314 invitations to the Express Entry candidates on Wednesday. These are the candidates with relevant work experience as Early Childhood Educators and Assistants.
All the candidates who received these invitations were taken from the Federal Express Entry pool, with at least two years experience in National Occupational Classification (NOC).
The Nova Scotia Office of Immigration through their spokesperson, Lynette Macleod, has explained that the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of such candidate was not the actual factor in their selection.
The candidates after receiving a Letter of Interest (LOI) are now in a position to file an application to Nova Scotia within a period of 30 days.
On August 2, 2018, Nova Scotia declared the introduction of Labour Market Priorities Stream. At that time, Nova Scotia Office of Immigration confirmed that Express Entry candidates would be invited through this steam. However, in order to apply for a provincial nomination, these candidates should first meet criteria for “Market-Identified Labour Shortages”.
After approval of a provincial nomination from Nova Scotia, the Express Entry candidates will receive an additional 600 points. These points will increase the overall score of Express Entry Comprehensive Ranking System, obtained by the candidates. Hence, with these additional points, the candidate will have an opportunity to apply for Canadian Permanent Residence.

In order to avail the benefits of the new Labour Market Priorities Stream, the candidates must submit their profile to the Express Entry system, as a first and foremost step.
