New Zealand’s Prime Minister John Key has been lately giving the excuse that increase in the rate of New Zealand Immigration is only due to the locals returning from Australia. The Statistics NZ proves him to be wrong. The number of immigrants rising as high as 124,000 people a year is not due to the reason PM states.
The number of people moving to Australia has been increasing than those who are returning. The ones returning are doing so because they have been treated as second-class citizens there. They are unable to get basic rights there such as ACC, health, welfare etc.
New Zealanders have fewer rights in Australia as compared to immigrants from Iraq, UK, Bangladesh, Indonesia or Europe from 2001.
The increase in New Zealand Immigration is a result of an increase in the number of people allowed to live, study and work in New Zealand.
PM Key is unable to recognize that the mass increase in New Zealand Immigration has resulted in increasing pressure on NZ emergency departments like health, education, housing, welfare etc.
Also, the GDP growth rate in New Zealand decreased to 0.1% for first three months this year. But mass immigration has affected the whole economy, the biggest driver being consumerism.
Mr. Key is treating mass immigration as a vote of confidence in New Zealand. In reality, that’s not the case. The open New Zealand Immigration policy is the only reason. After being rejected from countries like UK, Canada, US etc, people’s last escape is New Zealand.
New Zealand is in need to control immigration. It will help to boost our economy ad settle the issues NZ emergency departments are facing. Mindless, unplanned, uncalled for immigration is doing no good.
While PM Key is not getting the matter right, a number of commentators can foresee the mistake. They have been in support of the new immigration control policy. It is also a great help. The more the number of people understands this issue, the more the chances NZ higher authorities will get it.
Peters Winston is determined to stop the mass immigration. It is the only thing in favour of NZ.
