In a recent Expression of Interest draw held on May 23rd, Manitoba invited 196 immigration candidates to apply for a provincial nomination for Canadian permanent residence.

INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION STREAM

SKILLED WORKERS OVERSEAS

  • Number of Letters of Advice to Apply issued: 60 who were invited directly by the MPNP under a Strategic Recruitment Initiative
  • Ranking score of lowest-ranked candidate invited: 506

27 candidates out of these 196 invitations declared a valid Express Entry ID and job seeker validation code.

This draw brings the total invitation issued to skilled worker candidates this year to 4,320.

Through the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP), Manitoba nominates immigration candidates with skills required by employers in the province.  This program is one of Canada’s most active and successful provincial nominee programs, since 1998, it has helped more than 130,000 newcomers settle in Manitoba.

Selected Express Entry candidates:

Manitoba said 27 LAAs issued in the May 23 draw went to Express Entry candidates who had a job seeker validation code and experience in one of the occupations mentioned in the Manitoba’s In-Demand Occupations List.

Express Entry candidates who obtain a provincial nomination receive an additional 600 points toward their Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score.

Temporary foreign workers and international student graduates who are currently working in Manitoba and have been offered a permanent, full-time job with their Manitoba employer can apply through the Skilled Workers in Manitoba Stream.

Those eligible immigration candidates residing outside Canada, and who have an established connection to Manitoba such as the support of family members or friends, previous education or work experience in the province or an invitation under one of the MPNP’s Strategic Recruitment Initiatives have a chance to be selected through the Skilled Workers Overseas Stream.

All 60 Skilled Workers Overseas candidates invited in the May 23 draw were directly selected through the Strategic Recruitment Initiative.

How to Apply:

Potential skilled workers have to complete an online Expression of Interest (EOI) to be considered for a provincial nomination from Manitoba.

The EOI requires information regarding their education, work experience, proficiency in English or French and connections to Manitoba, among other details, on the basis of which they are assigned a score.

From Manitoba’s EOI pool, candidates with the highest scores are invited through regular draws.
