The Australian Immigration Department has released the new Skilled Occupation List for the next year 2016-2017. The new Skilled Occupation List have few changes including some occupations that they have excluded from the list.
According to the statement of Immigration Department, the new changes will take effect on 1st July 2016 unless we see any more changes in the list. The precious list will remain in effect by the end of June.
What are the Changes in Skilled Occupation List?
Unfortunately, they haven’t added new occupations in the list instead they have removed some occupations. What are they occupations? Let’s see below.
They have removed 9 occupations from the list:
- 233611: Mining Engineer (excluding Petroleum)
- 251312: Occupational Health and Safety Adviser
- 411212: Dental Prosthetist
- 233612: Petroleum Engineer
- 411211: Dental Hygienist
- 234912: Metallurgist
- 411214: Dental Therapist
- 251311: Environmental Health Officer
- 411213: Dental Technician
What are the Changes in CSOL?
CSOL is Consolidated Sponsored Occupations List. Luckily, they have not excluded anything from the CSOL list. In fact, they have added two new occupations in the list and the people who want to migrate through these occupations can apply after 1 July.

They have added the following two occupations:
- 252711: Audiologist
- 251912: Orthotist or Prosthetist
The new changes will be updated on Anzscosearch on 1st July. Until then, the current list applies.
