In TODAY show, Sonia Kruger calls for the ban on Muslim Immigration in Australia on 18th July 2016.
Later, she appeared on Twitter defending her words as people started calling her “racist.” There were hundreds of people who made fun of her words and called her racist.
During the show, Kruger was asked regarding the recent terror attacks in France and the Herald Sun article by Andrew Bolt, she replied:
In my personal belief, Bolt is right! There is a correlation between the number of terrorist attacks in a country and the number of muslims living there. Let’s have an example. There are one hundred thousands Muslims living in teh Japan while their total population is 174 million, and they never witnessed a terrorist attack.
My personal opinion is that now Australia should stop it as well. Our citizens need to feel safe when they go out to visit our national day. Also, I would like to see the freedom of speech as well.
David, who is a co-host of the show, interjected her and said that the freedom of religion and speech goes side by side. Then she replied:
I am not against the freedom of religion, but here we are talking about the immigration.
David replied that this type of articles spread hate and we don’t need it.

“If you go and visit one of the parents whose children died in a terrorist attack, you would hear the same opinion from them.”
The host of TODAY, Lisa Wilkinson told Kruger that the first person who died in the Bastille day attack was a Muslim.
She asked Kruger, “Do you mean that Australia should close their borders for Muslims?”
Kruger replied, YES!!!
Yes, we already have more than 0.5 million Muslims in our country and I think it is the time to stop it.
Similar to Donald Trump’s controversial statement on immigration policy, Kruger’s comment has started a serious debate on Social Media and everyone is talking about it.
