On April 19, 2024, Saskatchewan revised the processing times for different categories in the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP). These updates are made every quarter to reflect the average time it takes to process applications over the previous three months.
Each category’s processing time is measured in weeks. It is important to understand that these times can vary and do not necessarily predict how long it will take to process future applications.
Processing Times for SINP Applications in the First Quarter of 2024
For the period between January 1 and March 31, 2024, the processing times are detailed below:
International Skilled Worker
Saskatchewan targets a processing period of up to 16 weeks for all International Skilled Worker and Saskatchewan Experience applications. The start of the application process depends on the submission of all required details and supporting documents by the applicants.
SINP Category | Processing Time (Q4: 2023-24) |
Employment Offer | 6 weeks |
Occupation In-Demand | 35 weeks* |
Express Entry | 29 weeks* |
Tech Talent Pathway | 4 weeks |
Hard-to-Fill Skills Pilot | 7 weeks |
Note: *Processing times for the Occupation In-Demand and Express Entry categories do not include the average time waiting for additional information or time spent under program integrity review. The total processing times, accounting for additional delays, are approximately 4 weeks longer than the times listed above.
Entrepreneur and Farm
Saskatchewan aims to process all applications for Entrepreneurs and Farms, including those for Entrepreneur Nominations, within 12 weeks. Additionally, the province seeks to manage all requests for the return of Good Faith Deposits within 24 weeks.
SINP Category | Processing Time (Q4: 2023-24) |
Entrepreneur Applications | 6 weeks* |
Entrepreneurs Nominations | 9 weeks |
Farmers | Not available due to sample size** |
The processing times for Entrepreneur applications are determined from the moment both the application and a third-party financial verification report are received. This calculation does not include any delays in submission by the applicants.
The processing times for Farm Owners and Operators are calculated from when SINP acknowledges receipt of the application, which must include the processing fee and a third-party report, up to when a final decision is issued by SINP.
