After checking your eligibility, the next step is to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) via SkillSelect. Make sure all relevant details, including your work experience, are included in the submission.

When filling out the EOI, if you want to be considered for a Queensland nomination, select ‘Queensland’ as your only state of interest. This increases your chances of receiving an invitation to apply.

Step 2: Submit a Registration of Interest (ROI) for Queensland Nomination

You are only allowed to submit one Registration of Interest (ROI) for Queensland nomination. To complete this, you will need the following details:

  1. Your EOI number from SkillSelect.
  2. The visa subclass and skilled occupation you are applying for.
  3. Additional information such as:
    • Passport number.
    • Residential and employment postcodes.
    • Estimated annual salary (for onshore applicants only).
    • Details of your skilled partner (if applicable).

Step 3: Migration Queensland Selects and Invites Applicants

Throughout the financial year, Migration Queensland will select and send invitations to candidates who meet the requirements.

Step 4: If You Receive an Invitation to Apply for Queensland Nomination

The process is competitive, and receiving an invitation is not guaranteed. If you are selected, Migration Queensland will send an invitation to the email address listed in your EOI.

You will have 14 calendar days to:

  1. Upload the necessary documents and complete the application form.
  2. Pay the non-refundable application fee.

Migration Queensland will review your application based on the information in your EOI and ROI. They may ask for additional information if required.

Note: If you cannot provide the necessary documents within the given timeframe, your application will be closed.

Step 5: Submit Your Skilled Visa Application to the Australian Government

Once nominated, you will receive an invitation from the Department of Home Affairs to apply for your visa. You will have 60 days to complete and submit your visa application.
