The employers in Canada complained that current changes in the rules have made the survival too hard for workers working under Temporary Foreign Worker Program. Keeping these in view, the government has announced to ease up the controversial program.
The government will reveal the recommendations to the public next month when Parliament will resume.
The report is said to focus on the importance of foreign skilled workers and their need in the Canadian labour market. The stress will be given on the need of providing permanent Canadian residency under their temporary skilled Canadian immigration.
The current job market has revealed to have soft demand for the foreign skilled workers in some places. On other places, the rules are quite hard. As a result, the applications for permanent residency of these skilled workers were facing denial.
John McCallum – the Canadian Immigration Minister, announced in an interview that the Liberal government will make it easier for the foreign workers to apply for permanent residency.
He further added that the government will ease up the rules and unnecessary policies will be reduced. He said that the government wants to give the rights to employers in Canada to bring the brightest skilled persons in their companies.
The labour market assessment slows down the process of Canadian immigration for skilled workers. McCallum said that the government is aware of it. We will omit most of these requirements to increase the pace of the immigration system.
McCallum announced that he is determined to settle things regarding skilled Canadian immigration between the government as well as the employers by finding a common or middle ground.
Though the labour assessment is important for the government in order to ensure that a skill is currently unavailable in the Canadian labour market and the employer need it to carry away with the important tasks in the company.
This is also required to ensure security. But the Conservative Party has extended the rules and accompanying policies so far that it made the system difficult. The Liberals want to find an intermediate ground.
