Parent category draws are conducted every 3 months under New Zealand Residence Program. The recent results of selected Expression of Interest (EOI) under Parent Category were announced on August 16, 2016. These are given below:
For the current New Zealand immigration year from July 2016 to 30 June 2017, the draws scheduled for this category are in August 2016, November 2016, February 2017 and May 2017.
The number of draws is dependent on the places available under New Zealand Resident Programme.
The capped nature and increasing demand for New Zealand Resident Programme under parent category, the EOIs submitted before May 12, 2012 will not be considered for the draw. Though a small proportion of people are awaiting the results of their EOIs submitted before May 2012, due to the shortage of places the immigration department will not be considering them.
Under the Capped Family Category, currently, 11,000 people are waiting for their approval of New Zealand immigration. But the number of available places is below 11,000.
The immigration department has decided to select 750 Tier One EOIs per draw.

Due to the same reasons that do not allow considering Tier One EOIs submitted before May 2012 to be a part of these draws, Tier Two EOIs between now and June 2017 will also be omitted from the draw.
The EOIs submitted to be a part of this draw remain in the pool even if they are not selected for the draw. The fee for EOI submission is however, non-refundable, whether selected or not.
August 2016 Draw Results
A total of 1298 people submitted their EOIs for New Zealand Immigration. For these 1298 people, 779 Tier One EOIs were selected.
The EOIs included for this draw were submitted on or before October 30, 2015. And now the selected EOIs are under the process of verification to issue an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for Residence.
The next round is scheduled to be held on November 15, 2016. It will include EOIs that were submitted after October 30, 2015. A total of 3540 EOIs has been received for now. They will be an art of next draw.
