Express Entry Draw: Canada Invited 3,000 Candidates for PR on September 26, 2023

September 27, 2023BY Sheraz

On September 26, 2023, the Canadian Express Entry Draw 265 took place, inviting 3,000 candidates. To qualify, candidates needed a minimum CRS score of 504. This draw was unique because it didn’t specify a particular program, making it open to candidates from various pathways. The tie-breaking rule was set on September 11, 2023, at 20:24:18 UTC.

No Program Specified in the Second Express Entry Draw for September

Express Entry Draw #265 has issued 3,000 Invitations to Apply (ITA) to candidates who achieved a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 504. It’s important to note that no specific program was designated for this draw. Consequently, invitations to apply may have been extended to candidates from various programs, including the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), Canadian Experience Class (CEC), Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP), and Provincial Nominee Program.

This draw marks the second instance in this month of a “No Program Specified” draw. The previous occurrence was on September 19, when 3,200 candidates from all programs received invitations without any particular category restrictions. In that draw, the lowest CRS score among invited candidates was 531. So, if your Express Entry profile had a CRS score of 531 or higher, you could have been eligible for an invitation.

No Program Specified in the Second Express Entry Draw for September

In the most recent draw before this one, which was labeled as Draw #264 and was specific to “Transport occupations (2023-1),” the minimum CRS score required was 435 points. This score represents the second-lowest CRS score under the new category system. The only draw with a lower CRS score requirement was conducted on July 22, 2023, with a minimal score of 375 points for the “French language proficiency” category.

How Does Express Entry Work?

Express Entry is a point-based system utilized by the Canadian government to manage applications for Canadian permanent residency from skilled workers. This system oversees three primary programs: the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSW), the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FST), and the Canadian Experience Class (CEC). Additionally, there are draws for category-specific targets that have been introduced recently.

The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) assigns a score to each candidate’s profile to rank them within the Express Entry pool.

Are You Eligible?

The Express Entry points system evaluates your profile based on various factors, including your age, educational qualifications, work experience, proficiency in English and/or French, siblings in Canada, and more.

You can estimate your score using our CRS Score Calculator based on your profile.
