The selection of priority sectors is a crucial aspect of this shift. These sectors matched with the skills shortages in New South Wales. The priority sectors for the FY23-24 Skilled Migration State Nomination Program are as follows:

Visa Requirements: Applicants must meet all the visa requirements outlined by the Department of Home Affairs for their chosen visa subclass.

Skills Assessment: Candidates must hold a valid Skills Assessment for an occupation within one of the priority sectors identified by NSW.

Residency Requirement: There are two residency options:

1. Reside in NSW and have continuously resided in the state for a minimum period of six months.
2. Currently reside offshore and have continuously resided offshore for a minimum period of six months.

The 2023-24 NSW Migration Program Invitation Rounds
