On December 5th, a total of 530 candidates were invited to apply for provincial nomination under the Express Entry Stream of Manitoba. The selections were made through Skilled Workers and Skilled Workers Overseas categories.
The Skilled Workers Stream in Manitoba requires submission of an online Expression of Interest (EOI), through which they enter the EOI pool. The candidates are assigned scores based on their education, age, years of work experience, and minimum language requirements set by the province (CLB 5 or 6).
Next, they are ranked against other candidates according to their scores.
The top ranking candidates are sent a Letter of Advice to Apply (LAAs) for a provincial nomination. They will have 60 days to submit a complete application for provincial nomination through their online account.
By successfully obtaining a provincial nomination from Manitoba, candidates will be able to submit an application to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) for permanent residence.
In this draw, 213 LAAs were issued to candidates who submitted their EOIs under the Skilled Workers in Manitoba stream. The minimum score of this draw in this category was recorded 375, which is remarkably low then the previous draw.
Another 317 candidates were invited under the provinces’ Skilled Workers Overseas stream. Among these invitations, 62 were directly invited by MPNP under the Strategic Recruitment Initiative, and 255 were invited one having connections to the province i.e. , the person is having a close friend or relative in the province, or has recently worked in one of the Manitoba’s In-Demand Occupations
