In the most recent BC PNP draw on May 28, over 66 invitations to apply (ITAs) for permanent residency (PR) were issued in general and targeted invitation rounds.
British Columbia has held these draws weekly without interruption since we began covering immigration news.
Lately, however, there’s a noticeable shift: B.C. has begun reducing the number of invitations while raising the cutoff scores.
In a recent general BC PNP draw, only 35 invitations were issued under the BC PNP Skilled Worker and International Graduate streams, including their Express Entry options.
The cutoff score remained consistent across all categories but increased by 3 points for the Express Entry and Semi-Skilled streams compared to the previous draw on May 14.
Additionally, 11 invitations were sent to individuals with experience as early childhood educators’ assistants or instructors (NOC 42202).
Similarly, 11 candidates with experience in 25 construction-related occupations were invited to British Columbia’s new category-based draw, introduced in late 2023.
Furthermore, 9 invitations were issued to profiles with experience in 39 healthcare-related occupations for permanent residency.
