Expanding Visa Opportunities for Applicants

The revision of visa fees is a customary practice that takes place annually following the announcement of the budget. Nevertheless, the Australian government has consistently been making efforts to streamline immigration regulations and procedures for individuals applying for skilled, student, and visitor visas. Recently, the Department of Home Affairs (DHA) has implemented several measures that benefit different visa applicants, effective from 1st July 2023:

  1. Enhanced Annual Immigration Target: The government has raised the visa allocation from 160,000 to 190,000, aiming to accommodate a larger number of individuals seeking immigration to Australia.
  2. Extended Post-Study Work Rights: Temporary Graduate visa (Subclass 485) holders have been granted an additional 2 years of post-study work rights, providing them with an extended period to gain professional experience in Australia.
  3. Increased Part-Time Work Allowance: The DHA has raised the limit on part-time work hours for foreign students studying in Australia from 40 hours per fortnight to 48 hours per fortnight. This change enables students to engage in more employment opportunities while pursuing their studies.

These recent measures reflect the Australian government’s commitment to facilitating the immigration process and promoting favorable conditions for skilled, student, and visitor visa applicants.
