On September 19, 2024, the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) government held the Canberra Matrix Invitation Round. In this round, 130 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) were issued to qualified visa candidates. These invitations were granted for two different visa categories: the Subclass 190 and Subclass 491 visas.
ITAs Distributed Across Various Categories
In the recent Canberra Matrix Invitation Round, ITAs were given to candidates across three main groups:
- 457/482 Visa Holders: A total of 13 ITAs were issued to those currently holding a valid Subclass 457 Temporary Work visa or Subclass 482 Temporary Skill Shortage visa.
- Critical Skill Occupations: 72 ITAs were granted to individuals with skills in occupations considered essential for the ACT’s economy.
- Critical Skill Occupations (Overseas Applicants): Another 45 ITAs were allocated to overseas applicants who possess skills in critical occupations and meet the ACT’s eligibility requirements.
