New Zealand Immigration – Kaitangata Welcomes People From Across the Globe

A small town on South Island has been attracting a number of people lately all due to its attractive housing schemes and work prospects. Kaitangata is a small town in Cultha Disrict, New Zealand. It has around 800 people.

The town is calling for prospective residents and has issued a prospectus for the same. The town offers a 3 bedroom brand new house with some land for only $230,000.

While the house and land package is quite attractive, there’s more to the story. The town offers a bonus of $160,000 for settling in the South Otago town of Kaitangata.

The news got viral worldwide and a number of people start seeking for New Zealand Immigration to avail such a superb package. But the overseas story has inaccuracy in its list of pros.

A New Zealand Town Offering Too Many Jobs to Recruit Outsiders

The media circulated that Kaitangata is open for anyone to settle in and the town will give a $160,000 bonus to the prospective residents.

The district council assured that the news is inaccurate and people are not getting paid for solely living in the town.

Media reported that the interested candidates are to contact the mayor of the town. Since the news went viral globally, the mayor’s office has been flooded with calls of the prospective candidates. The district council thanks the people for their interest in living in Kaitangata but at the same time, the council announced to straighten up the facts.

The mayor said that the response was aimed to address the high house pricing issue in Auckland. For foreign prospective candidates, he asked to go through the New Zealand Immigration policies. The town is not offering the $160,000 bonus but there are a number of work opportunities. The mayor invites people from across the globe to seek for the right working opportunity in the town and apply for immigration.

The council also invited people to send their resumes to the economic development agency of Clutha District.

The agriculture sector is the major economic opportunity for the district but specialists in other sectors are also welcomed. The council invites interested candidates.
