The residency will be in University’s residence hall. It will provide an academically supportive environment to first-year students and help them in having improved study outcomes.

The scholarship program is for both, students from Auckland as well as the international students who applied for New Zealand immigration through this scholarship.

The scholarships offer a socially healthy and career-oriented environment. Since the residency is near the study campus, travel time and cost will also be saved.

Apart from personal and academic grounds, the eligibility of students will be assessed through a number of factors.  Some of these include the following:

  • Is the student the first individual in the family to attend a university?
  • Does the student have any disability?
  • Does he live in a rural area?
  • Does he have any financial issues?

And so on.

The currently enrolled students in University pathway programmes are also eligible for the new University of Auckland Academic Potential Scholarship.

The Vice Chancellor says that they want to give equal opportunities to the potential students all over the world.

Students can easily apply for these scholarships since there is no complexity in the procedure.

Applications will be accepted till august 23, 2016. The University of Auckland encourages all eligible students to apply.
