Manitoba issued 400 ITAs through Provincial Nomination Program

On November 8, a total of 469 candidates were invited to apply for provincial nomination for permanent residence. The selections were made through Skilled Workers and Skilled Workers Overseas streams.

The Skilled Workers Stream in Manitoba allows candidates to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI), through which they enter the EOI pool. Next, they are ranked against other candidates according to their scores.

The scores are obtained based on the candidate’s education, age, years of work experience, and minimum language requirements set by the province (CLB 5 or 6). Moreover, Manitoba grants points if the person is having a close friend or relative in the province, or has recently worked in one of the Manitoba’s In-Demand Occupations.

The top ranking candidates are sent a Letter of Advice to Apply (LAAs) for a provincial nomination. They will have 60 days to submit a complete application for provincial nomination through their online account.

By successfully obtaining a provincial nomination from Manitoba, candidates will be able to submit an application to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) for permanent residence.

In this draw, 300 LAAs were issued to candidates who submitted their EOIs under the Skilled Workers in Manitoba stream. These candidates hold a minimum score of 602 based on the provinces’ unique points-based system.

Another 169 candidates were invited under the provinces’ Skilled Workers Overseas stream. This category is further bifurcated in two categories, one for the Strategic Recruitment Initiative, and one having connections to the province.

The candidates invited under strategic Recruitment Initiative under Skilled Workers Overseas stream were interviewed by Manitoba’s representative during an overseas recruitment mission.

Following is the breakdown of candidates selected under Manitoba’s Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP):
