Liberals are Asking Right Questions About Canadian immigration, Says Report

An immigration report was leaked lately. The report shows that the questions asked by the Liberal government regarding Canadian immigration policies are right. The future policies are in question and Liberals are right about them.

Over the years, governments have emphasized to provide a temporary solution for the occurring problems regarding Canadian immigration. This has complicated the overall system forming never ending streams for each occurring category.

Medium Term Policy: Balanced Immigration, as the leaked report is named, it focuses on the solution to resolve the complexity of this system. The questions raised in this report direct towards the current levels of Canadian immigration.

According to the reports, the current government is considering ways that will target the immigration, citizenship and refugee matters in a manner that is entirely different from the current policies.

The report shows that 35% of male immigrants move back to their homelands within the same year of their immigration. Experts should consider this matter and look for the factors that can be a cause for this behaviour.

A skilled immigrant can add to the economy of the country, therefore, we should devise policies that will encourage more and more skilled people to apply for immigration to Canada. Also, the policies should encourage them to stay in Canada.

Said that, the policies should not only focus the employment opportunities but also the other matters related to immigrants. This needs to be done so that a balance could be maintained in the immigration policy.

The current changes that are being considered to be included in the new immigration policy include the following:

  • Redesign temporary foreign workers programs
  • More flexible Express Entry Program
  • Redesign International Mobility policy and eliminate Labour Market Impact Assessment from businesses wishing to hire international skilled workers.
  • Redesign Post Graduate Work Program

The Liberal government is taking serious notice of the changes required in the current immigration system.
