British Columbia Sends Invitations to 339 Skilled workers and Graduates Through its Latest Draws

British Columbia, one of the Canadian provinces has issued 339 new Invitations to Apply (ITA’s) through its February 28 and March 7 draws. The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) through its Pilot program conducted one of these latest draws. This makes it possible for the technology sector of the province to continue its efforts to hunt new talent via its streamlined weekly draws.

The BC PNP invited international graduates, skilled and semi-skilled workers during its February 28 draw. The candidates made their way through BC’s Express Entry and Skills Immigration categories. Described below are the minimum scores from each category included in this particular draw.

Date Category Minimum Score Required Number of ITAs Issued
February 28, 2018  (Includes tech-only draw on March 7, 2018) EEBC – Skilled Worker 82 339
EEBC – International Graduate 82
SI – Skilled Worker 77
SI – International Graduate 82
SI – Entry Level and Semi-Skilled 40

The applicants have up to 30 calendar days from the date of receiving an invitation to complete and submit their applications through Online Registration System at BCPNP. Moreover, receiving an Invitation to Apply (ITA) is not a guarantee that the applicant will seek an approval for the nomination.

Most of the candidates should have a full-time job offer (Indeterminate) from a BC’s employer, who is ready to provide necessary support to them during the relevant application process. Another fact that needs attention is to differentiate between the Invitation to Apply (ITA) for the BC PNP and the ITA’s issued at the federal level, as they are not the same.

The successful nominations will be the fate of those candidates who received invitations under the Express Entry BC: International Graduate and Express Entry BC: Skilled Worker programs. In addition to this, the successful candidate must have obtained 600 additional points under the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) and an Invitation to Apply (ITA) during a subsequent draw from the federal Express Entry pool.
