British Columbia conducted a Tech Pilot Draw; 73 candidates under the category of Skilled Immigration and Express Entry were invited on 16th July 2019

British Columbia issued new invitations through its Provincial Nominee Program. These candidates were registered under various categories of the Skills Immigration and Express Entry BC Streams, and can further apply for Canadian permanent residence.

The current draw held on July 16th was specifically for the candidates who were having previous work experience in one of the 29 Tech Occupations selected by the province. The BC PNP Tech Pilot was formulated to help Canadian employers meet the talent shortages in the province. It is a fast-tracked, permanent immigration pathway foreign workers and international students.
How does the British Provincial Nominee Program work?

Candidates firstly need to submit an Express Entry profile to enter the Express Entry BC stream.

Candidates invited under the Express Entry BC stream will receive an additional 600 points toward their overall Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score.

The remainder of the candidates nominated under the Skills Immigration Stream: Skilled Worker and International Graduate categories will have their permanent residence application processed with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) separate from the Express Entry system.

The eligible candidates first have to register with the BC PNP Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS) and receive a registration score. The SIRS points-based system evaluates candidates on their educational credentials, work experience, and English or French language proficiency.

Those who were selected in the July 16th draw had a full-time job offer from an eligible employer in British Columbia.

The breakdown of July 16th draw was as follows:

July 16, 2019 EEBC – Skilled Worker 90                73
