Saskatchewan Sends Invitations to Apply (ITAs) to142 Candidates for Entrepreneur Program

At May 24, 2017, Saskatchewan successfully conducted largest draw in the history of Canadian immigration. Through this draw, 142 international entrepreneurs received invitation to apply ITAs. This draw relates to the Entrepreneur stream of Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP).

This draw sets another new record by exhibiting its lowest cut-off point of 80. This Points threshold is necessary for the candidate with a view to apply for a nomination certificate. This stream is termed as a SINP Entrepreneur Program by the government of Saskatchewan.

SINP Entrepreneur Program

Through this specific program, successful candidates may start their own business or enter into a partnership within Saskatchewan. Such applicants must be able to actively participate in business activity and manage the same while living in the province.

Initially, the selected applicants receive a work permit, which allows them to reside and work in Saskatchewan, prior applying for Canadian immigration. Issuance of such a permit depends on the terms of a Business Performance Agreement (BPA).

Eligibility Criteria

Each entrepreneur candidate must have a minimum amount $500,000 CAD, with a view to fulfill eligibility criteria. In addition, the equity investment amount starts from $200,000 and goes up to $300,000, if cities of Saskatoon or Regina are the desired locations for such an investment.

SINP Entrepreneur Score Grid

The candidates, who have entered SINP Entrepreneur pool, receive a specific score out of 160 points. The main focus of this unique points grid is to fulfill the needs of local labor market. For instance, candidates planning to invest in a major economic sector can seek more points.

Mostly candidates conduct exploratory visits to Saskatchewan, comprising of not less than five working days. They provide necessary evidence of meeting with the relevant business organization or person. Following are the other factors, which play important role in scoring maximum points through SINP Entrepreneur score grid.

  • Age
  • Level of Education
  • Language ability
  • Entrepreneurial experience etc

A part from conducting May 24 draw, the SINP has deliberately announced the dates for three upcoming draws under this program.

  • July 19, 2017
  • October 18, 2017
  • January 17, 2018

This is for the first time that such an announcement is coming from the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP). On the contrary, federal or other provincial governments never announced in advance regarding their future draws.

Hence, SINP Entrepreneur Program is effective and different from other similar programs. With this helpful approach, applicants or candidates remain updated about schedule of their upcoming draws.
