Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) Updates – 4 July 2017

Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program announced on 28th of June that they will release a targeted Notifications of Interests (NOIs). These NOIs will be issued to the applicants who qualify for Ontario’s Express Entry Human Capital Priorities (HCP) Stream and have work experience in the Information and Communications Technology sector.

List of Targeted Occupations by National Occupational Classification (NOC)

• 0131: Telecommunication Carriers Managers
• 0213: Computer and Information Systems Managers
• 2133: Electrical and Electronics Engineers
• 2147: Computer Engineers (Except Software Engineers and Designers)
• 2171: Information Systems Analysts and Consultants
• 2172: Database Analysts and Data Administrators
• 2173: Software Engineers and Designers
• 2174: Computer Programmers and Interactive Media Developers
• 2175: Web Designers and Developers
• 2241: Electrical and Electronics Engineering Technologists and Technicians
• 2281: Computer Network Technicians
• 2282: User Support Technicians
• 2283: Systems Testing Technicians
• 5224: Broadcast Technicians
• 5241: Graphic Designers and Illustrators

Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program has reduced the minimum required CRS score for these occupations only. The CRS score requirement has been lowered below 400. Nonetheless, applicants still require fulfilling other HCP stream eligibility requirements. These requirements are given below:

Work Experience

To become eligible for HCP stream, you work experience should meet one of the following:

• As per the criteria of Federal Skilled Worker Program, you require at least one-year work experience within last five years.

OR

• As per the criteria of Canadian Experience Class, you must have one-year experience in last three years.

Language

Applicants should have the English or French language ability equivalent to Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 7.

Education

Applicants need to hold a degree Equivalent of a Canadian Bachelor’s or above.

Purpose

An applicant must have the intent to stay in Ontario for a long-term.

Settlement Funds

Applicants must have the least level of savings or income in Ontario.
