The Skilled Migrant Category Expression of Interest selection took place at approximately 1.00pm NZ time on Wednesday 28 September 2016.

According to the official website of New Zealand Immigration, people who had less than 140 points, but had a job offer got selected in a large number. The total number of registrants (with less than 140 points, but above than 100) were 472 and 214 of them got selected during the Skilled Migrant Category Fortnightly Selection on 28 September 2016.

On the other hand, 1600 EOIs applied with 140 or more points and 766 of them got selected during the Fortnightly Selection on 28 September 2016.
