Canada – International Skilled Worker Category by SINP

The SINP’s International Skilled Worker Category is further divided into three sub-categories.

  • International Skilled Worker – Saskatchewan Express Entry
  • International Skilled Worker – Occupations In-Demand
  • International Skilled Worker – Employment Offer

International Skilled Worker – Saskatchewan Express Entry

Canada - International Skilled Worker Category by SINP

The province is capable of nominating individuals who are in (IRCC) Express Entry pool. Each candidate should be eligible for any one of the following:

  • Federal Skilled Trades
  • Canadian Experience Class
  • Federal Skilled Worker

Minimum Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must have:

  • Legal status (if living in Canada)
  • Minimum language score (CLB) 4
  • At least one year of training or post-secondary education
  • Minimum score of 60 points out of 100 on the SINP point assessment grid
  • Applicant must have a connection to the labour market of Saskatchewan

Factors Affecting Selection

  • Education and Training

The applicant can only receive points if they are able to prove their education or training through relevant records such as copies of certificates, diplomas or degrees.

  • Skilled Work Experience

Skilled work experience of previous ten is necessary to obtain selection points.

  • Language Ability

The candidate must score a minimum CLB 4 in the following language proficiency tests.

  1. Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program (CELPIP)
  2. International English Language Testing Systems (IELTS, General Training)
  3. Test d’evaluation de Francais (TEF).
  • Age

Each applicant will obtain points with reference to his or her age.

International Skilled Worker – Occupations In-Demand

This sub-category belongs to those skilled workers who have experience in one of the in-demand occupations of Saskatchewan. No job offer is necessary under this sub-category.

Each applicant will obtain points with reference to his or her age.

International Skilled Worker – Employment Offer

Only those applicants, who have received an offer of employment through Saskatchewan employer, may apply under this sub-category.

Minimum Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must have:

  • Proof of legal status (if living in Canada)
  • Minimum language score (CLB) 4
  • At least one year post-secondary education or training

Who is Not Eligible to Apply

Following candidates are not eligible to apply under the SINP’s International Skilled Worker Category.

  • Health professionals
  • Food and beverage servers
  • Refugee claimants in Canada
  • Persons with no intention to permanently live and work in Saskatchewan
  • Unable to provide requested documentation
