Australian Immigration Occupation Ceilings 2017-2018

Huh, Finally!!!

Australia has updated the occupations ceilings for 2017-2018 on 3rd of August, 2017. The attached table represents the No. of ITAs that will be granted during 1st July 2017 to 1st July 2018. Also, it shows the four-digit ANZSCO code unit group. Australia delayed publishing of occupation ceilings for almost a month. They also delayed publishing of the 12 July 2017 round results. 

The main purpose of Occupations ceilings is to ensure that Australian Skilled Immigration program isn’t focused on few occupations only. The Australian Bureau of Statistics provides the stock employment figures to Australian Immigration department. On the basis of stock employment figures for each occupation, the immigration department publishes the occupation ceilings.

These occupation ceilings are not effective for State or Territory Nominated, Investment visa subclasses, Business Innovation, and Employer Sponsored.

The Australian immigration department provides the occupation ceilings every year at the start of July.
