The figures mentioned above do not engage invitations issued for all visa subclasses. For instance, it does not include visa subclasses nominated by State and Territory Government. State and Territory Governments have a different procedure to nominate. They deal in specific points tested skilled migration, investment and business innovation visas. Concerned authorities provide separate results for such visa subclasses on monthly basis.

Invitation process and cut offs

Clients, who get the highest rank by points score, can apply for the relevant visa. This is possible only if they receive an invitation to apply. For those having equal points score, things are little different. The time, at which such clients reached their points score for a specific subclass, will determine proposed order of their invitation. The expressions of Interest submitted earlier can get invitations on a priority basis.

Occupation groups given below will have pro-rata arrangements to make sure that invitations are available across the program year. At first, SkillSelect allocates existing places to Skilled – Independent visas (subclass 189) and afterward allocates the remaining places to Skilled – Regional (Provisional) visas (subclass 489). There will be no invitations left for subclass 489, if subclass 189 takes all places in provided occupation list.
