51 Entrepreneurs Become Permanent Resident Through Startup Visa Program

Startup Visa Program has started showing the results

A recent statement released by the federal government:

“More and more entrepreneurs are coming to Canada via Startup Visa Program and we can see the positive results. They are providing more oppurtunities to middle class families all over the country.”

Until 2nd May 2016, 51 entrepreneurs has received their permanent resident letter through the program. The Start-up Visa Program has started doing well and more people are becoming interested in it as they see the positive results.

The Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship, Arif Virani said, “The Startup Visa Program has finally started showing the positive results. Most of the start-ups that are established in Canada has complete potential to boost our economy and offer jobs to Canadians.” He was talking to media on Tuesday.

The Startup Visa Program has attracted candidates from numerous countries including Egypt, India, China, Uruguay, Australia, South Africa and Iran. Most of the applicants belong to food product manufacturing, banking, Human resources, technology, advertising, medical research, and education. Since the program has drawn the attention of entrepreneurs from various countries and industries, it proves the success of this initiative.

Although you need to have the support of a designated Canadian entity to apply for the permanent residence such as angel investor group, a business incubator or Canadian venture capital fund, still a lot of applications are received by the department. The department is well-prepared for these applications and they have already provided 51 permanent residences to the candidates who were eligible.

There are 50 more applications that are going through the process and their results will be published soon.
